Same address on North Washington. Same family focus on doing the job right. Eighty-nine years and counting.
Axle & Wheel Aligning Co. opened its doors in 1937 at 126 N Washington Ave in Wichita — and it's been there ever since. The business changed ownership in 1976 but never changed its focus: alignment, brakes, and suspension work done by people who actually explain what they're doing and why.
For decades that focus was carried forward under Larry Standiford, who led the shop until his passing in March 2025. His standard for honest, straightforward diagnostics is still how we operate today. We still work on older kingpin-style front ends alongside the latest Hunter and Bear alignment technology — because Wichita still has plenty of both on the road.
SAME SHOP, EVERY DECADE
The original mark was nothing fancy — just the shop's name in block print. This embroidered patch came next: a classic car silhouette on a shop-blue field, "Since 1937" stitched right in. Today's script wordmark is the third generation. Different looks, same address on North Washington the whole time.
We invested in Hunter and Beeline alignment systems, a Hunter Road Force balancer, and a Hunter Revolution tire machine — but we didn't throw out what 89 years teaches you about a front end that a machine can't.
We tell you what's actually wrong — and what isn't — before any work starts.
Daily drivers, custom builds, motorhomes, and heavy trucks all come through these doors.
No jargon dump. We explain the problem the way we'd explain it to family.
